We had a wonderful time at Seniors Bocce in the Gulch yesterday! 16 seniors joined us for a great morning of bocce, coffee, and cookies! There are 4 additional spots opened up to join if you are 65+ and looking for something fun to do on Thursdays for the next 4 weeks at 11:00 am. Call Trail & District Public Library at 250-364-1731to register! Huge Thank You to City of Trail for donation of the space and South Kootenay Seniors Trail Family and Individual Resource Centre Society and Trail & District Public Library for co hosting this amazing recreational opportunity for the seniors in our community!

Come on out for our last day of our community connections seniors walking group! 10:30 am at Haley Park on the walking track up in Warfield. There will be coffee and muffins to enjoy after your walk. Hope to see you out there!

We have a wonderful collaboration starting next Thursday May 21st with South Kootenay Seniors and the Trail & District Public Library as well as our Community Connector. We have had a busy Spring over here at the Lower Columbia Better at Home Program. We held a fabulous 80 person lunch with 24 home deliveries to local seniors at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 11 - Trail, BC with beautiful Easter bouquets for a few lucky seniors to take home donated by Ferraro Foods and some great door prizes provided by Trail Family and Individual Resource Centre Society. We have also partnered with Trail & District Public Library and South Kootenay Seniors for multiple community events such as the Community Connections Walking Group that is wrapping up its last session at Hayley Park this Thursday(May 14th) at 10:30 am and the Amazing and Ageing Wellness Series wrapping up at the Waneta Plaza this Wednesday(May 13th) at 11:00 am. We are so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful community with so many partners willing to work together to create Seniors programming in our area!

At United Way BC, our Social Prescribing Program helped 6,597 seniors through 56 community agencies, delivering 51,382 non-medical services in 2024–25.
Social prescribing helps people get the supports they need to live well.
This Social Prescribing Day, we’re celebrating the community programs that make this possible. Thank you!
