Celebrating 25 years and hoping for many more!

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝟐𝟓 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩 𝐊𝐈𝐃𝐒 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝.

Twenty-five years of children and families, partnerships and persistence, wheelchairs and walkers, workshops and advocacy, inclusion and community, small steps and life-changing moments.

Most of all, 25 years of learning from children and youth with disabilities and their families - about resilience, injustice, joy, creativity, and what becomes possible when people are given the support, tools, and opportunities they deserve.

We are so grateful to everyone who has been part of this work: families, children, youth, volunteers, donors, partners, therapists, teachers, advocates, and friends across Canada, Peru, and beyond.

We also want to be honest: this anniversary comes at a difficult time. Like many small grassroots international organizations, Equip KIDS is facing serious challenges. We are trying to survive, rebuild, and find a sustainable way forward.

But this milestone also reminds us why the work matters — and why we are not ready to give up.

As we mark 25 years, we are looking for people to help us turn a corner and carry Equip KIDS into its next chapter.

This 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, we’re raising funds to send a container full of pediatric wheelchairs, walkers, standers, and other mobility devices to children in Peru who urgently need them.

- A container full of life-changing mobility, independence, and possibility.
- A container full of hope, dignity, and the chance for a child to go to school, play with friends, and participate fully in their community.
- A container full of love and solidarity for families who have been waiting, often for many years, for the basic supports their children deserve.

In Peru and across the Global South, children with disabilities regularly go without the equipment and support they need to move safely, communicate, learn, and thrive.

Together, we can fill this container, and we can fill the lives of children and families with opportunity, freedom, and hope.

Team Equip KIDS at the Toronto Waterfront races!

To everyone who ran, donated, cheered us on, or helped spread the word - thank you for making last weekend’s Toronto Waterfront races such a great success for Equip KIDS International!

Our amazing team showed up with much heart, purpose, and determination, running not just for fun, but to raise funds that will help us send a shipping container of pediatric wheelchairs and assistive devices to kids with disabilities in Peru. Check out the photos and see if you can't find a few Equip KIDS team members. :)

So far, we’ve raised almost $3,500, and we’re not done yet!
There’s still time to donate and share so we can reach our goal and help kids access the mobility, inclusion, and dignity they deserve. Every dollar counts.

Good luck to our 5 km racers at the Toronto Waterfront 5 km race tomorrow! They'll be out there running, rolling and walking to help raise funds so that we can send urgently-needed pediatric wheelchairs to Peru.

There's still time to help us reach our goal of raising $5000 (enough to send 20 life-changing wheelchairs).
