The Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) hosted a successful day of cross-border collaboration on June 8th, welcoming a distinguished business delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), led by Dr Ranjeet Mehta. A major highlight of the session was the enthusiastic support across public sectors, bringing together representatives from all three levels of Canadian government: the federal level through Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada, the provincial level via the Ontario Government | Gouvernement de l’Ontario, and the municipal level through the City of Toronto.

During the event, ICCC President Prashant Srivastava and Dr Ranjeet Mehta discussed the shifting momentum in India–Canada relations, emphasizing that consistent business exchanges turn high-level policy into real market success. In recognition of these deepening connections, the ICCC proudly presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr Ranjeet Mehta on behalf of Hon’ble Minister Nina Tangri, honoring his leadership in building stronger bilateral trade ties.

The session was further enriched by insights from guest speakers Mr. Deepak Anand, Parliamentary Assistant, Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Ms. Cheska Catilo, Trade Commissioner, Global Affairs Canada, and Ms. Fariba Niroui, PMP, Consultant, City of Toronto. Following the discussion, over 50 ICCC members engaged in one-on-one B2B matchmaking meetings with the visiting PHDCCI delegates to explore joint ventures and investment strategies, underscoring the immense progress possible when government and private industry work toward shared economic goals.

The Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) warmly welcomes the upcoming visit of Hon. Shri Piyush Goyal to Canada at a pivotal moment in the evolving relationship between India and Canada.

As both nations work toward a constructive reset and renewed engagement, the ICCC believes this visit represents an important opportunity to strengthen economic cooperation, rebuild business confidence, and deepen the long-standing people-to-people ties that form the foundation of the India–Canada partnership.

The ICCC Trade Delegation had the privilege of meeting Minister Goyal at the Indian Parliament in March 2026, where productive discussions focused on bilateral trade, investment opportunities, innovation partnerships, and the immense potential for enhanced commercial collaboration between our two countries. The Chamber also values its previous engagements with the Minister during his past visits to Canada, which consistently demonstrated his commitment to expanding global economic partnerships and supporting Indian and Canadian businesses alike.

At a time when both countries are looking ahead with renewed optimism, the ICCC looks forward to continuing to work closely with stakeholders in India and Canada to promote trade, investment, entrepreneurship, and strategic partnerships across key sectors.

The Chamber is confident that Minister Goyal’s visit will contribute positively to advancing dialogue, fostering stronger business-to-business connections, and helping shape a new chapter in India–Canada economic relations.

We extend our best wishes for a successful and productive visit.
