As the school year begins, many Ukrainian children must attend school far from home – in Russian-controlled schools. In these institutions, their Ukrainian identity is systematically suppressed and shaped through state-directed indoctrination.

Stop the Militarization of Ukrainian Children!
According to a report by and the , Russia is systematically militarizing children in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
Dariia Zarivna, Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office, stated:
“Ukrainian children are victims of ideological manipulation, losing their identity and childhood. This is not individual initiatives but a large-scale state policy financed by the Kremlin.”
Key points:
The “Yunarmiya” organization is a central tool in militarizing children.
Children are being used for state-directed activities, including recruitment and espionage.
The ideological and military training aims to erase Ukrainian identity.
Andriy Kovalenko, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, emphasized:
“Their task is to identify those responsible, gather evidence, and work on international sanctions to stop violations of children’s rights and ensure their return.”
Kids Create Ukraine Foundation fully supports international efforts to identify those responsible, gather evidence, and implement sanctions to protect Ukrainian children’s rights and secure their safe return.

Back to School in Ukraine
September 1 – Ukraine’s Prime Minister, Yulia Svyrydenko (), announced that 3.5 million children have started the new school year, with 2.3 million attending in-person classes. This marks significant progress compared to last year, when many children had to rely on remote learning.
Svyrydenko emphasized that continuing and improving education is crucial in a country affected by war. The government aims to:
Open 203 new school shelters by the end of 2026
Expand the availability of the “Mrija” system
Establish 406 digital learning centers in war-affected communities
The Prime Minister said:
“Unfortunately, some school desks remain empty. Some children attend school without a father or mother. Some teachers will not be able to meet with their students. Every renovated school, every scholarship, every new classroom is our debt to those who gave their lives for our future.”
This statement highlights Ukraine’s commitment to supporting future generations despite the war, and underscores the importance of increased in-person education and infrastructure development.

Civilian and Child Victims in Ukraine
According to the latest data, since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, over 13,800 civilians have been killed and more than 35,000 injured.
Among them are at least 716 children killed, and over 2,170 children injured.
These are innocent lives — children who were taken too soon, and survivors who will carry visible and invisible scars for the rest of their lives.
These are not just numbers. Each figure represents a child, a family, a community forever changed.
At the Kids Create Ukraine Foundation, we remain committed to reminding the world — and calling on , , , and the international community — that civilians, especially children, are at the center of Russia’s systematic and deliberate attacks.
Every voice, every share, and every act of support matters in ensuring that we do not look away, and that we stand with the most vulnerable.

Our thoughts are with Kyiv. According to , at least 23 people were killed in last night’s strike on the capital, including four children — the youngest not even three years old. 53 more were injured, and the fate of eight people remains unknown. We stand with the families, with the first responders, and with everyone working to save lives. Russia’s attacks on civilians must not go unanswered.

On August 27, 2025, a Russian missile strike hit residential buildings and diplomatic offices in Kyiv, killing at least 18 people, including four children.
International leaders have strongly condemned the attacks: Maia Sandu, President of Moldova: Russia brings only war and death. The missiles have killed civilians, including children.
Jan Lipavský, Czech Foreign Minister: Described the attack as a horrific assault on peace and condemned the targeting of residential areas.
Karl Lauterbach, German Health Minister: Germany stands ready to provide medical aid to the victims and emphasized the importance of respecting humanitarian law.

Our foundation joins the international community in calling on Russia to immediately cease attacks on civilians, especially children, and to respect international humanitarian law.

💔 This morning, Kyiv was struck by a devastating attack – children were not spared.

On August 28, Russian forces targeted residential buildings, kindergartens, and shopping centers in Kyiv. According to the latest official reports, at least 15 people lost their lives, including four children.

The ongoing war in Ukraine has dramatically increased the number of violent incidents affecting children. One in five children has lost a close relative or friend, severely impacting their mental and physical well-being.

The Kids Create Ukraine Foundation is committed to supporting the most vulnerable victims of this war – the children. We work tirelessly to protect children and ensure accountability for those responsible for war crimes.

🕊 Please support our mission so that children can grow up safely and find hope during these difficult times.

🇺🇦 One Flag, One People, One Hope 🇺🇦 – Ukraine’s National Flag Day

Today, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy participated in the ceremonial raising of the blue-and-yellow flag at the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War.
“This flag is a symbol of love for Ukraine.

It waves proudly across our cities—on buildings, on flagpoles, in car windows, and on backpacks. This flag represents the salvation of those we bring back from Russian captivity. It is the goal and the dream of every Ukrainian living in temporarily occupied territories. For hundreds of thousands who risk their lives to defend the freedom and the right to life of all Ukraine, this flag is their most cherished treasure,” said the President.

During the ceremony, a moment of silence honored all those who gave their lives for Ukraine’s freedom.

💙💛 This flag is our strength, our hope, our future.
