Join us on April 10th for Mobilizing Canada: Power, Partnerships and Purpose in the New Global Order, a full-day conference at the University of Victoria examining how Canada can step up its leadership in a time of shifting alliances, economic challenges, and global uncertainty.

We're proud to announce our opening keynote at Mobilizing Canada:

Jody Thomas: former National Security and Intelligence Advisor to Prime Minister Trudeau and former Deputy Minister of National Defence.

Few people in Canada understand the intersection of security, intelligence, and international affairs the way Jody does. Her keynote will set the stage for a day of high-level conversation about Canada's role in a rapidly changing world.

We are pleased to welcome Michael Adams, President and Founder of the Environics Institute for Survey Research, for a special lecture hosted by the Canadian International Council on March 26, 2026 in Toronto.

Drawing on themes first explored in Fire and Ice and later in Could it Happen Here? Michael will examine the evolution and divergence of social values in Canada and the United States. In light of Donald Trump’s return to the White House and an increasingly assertive posture toward Canada, this lecture will consider how prevailing assumptions about both countries may need to be reconsidered. It will also reflect on how Canadians are responding to pressures on economic stability and national sovereignty, and what these responses suggest about the country’s character at a moment when both unity and independence feel uncertain.

Date and time
Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM

Location
Campbell Conference Facility
Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto
1 Devonshire Place, Toronto

We look forward to welcoming you for what promises to be a timely and substantive discussion.
