UTS DECA

As many of you may have heard, Nicole Stef, a UTS alumna, passed away on December 29th, 2019. Nicole was an incredibly bright light in the eyes of her loved ones, and at UTS, she was an extremely passionate DECA member. Nicole was constantly inspiring both her peers and students younger than her to push themselves to perform as well as they could.

It is because of these contributions that we would like to compile her friends’ favourite DECA moments with her, be it during training, meetings or competitions. You can share any of these stories and/or photos by messaging us directly on Facebook or Instagram.

In addition, we will be donating to Climate Justice Toronto, an organization in which Nicole was an engaged member and organizer. After doing so much for us, it’s the least we can do to honour her memory.

Regionals is tomorrow! Here are some last-minute tips and reminders for competitors: Engage your judge because chances are that they will be really tired so make sure you keep them interested. Stay calm, be yourself, and keep in mind that it’s supposed to be a conversation. Remember to bring a clipboard with paper, photo ID and if you are in Writtens, a fully charged laptop. Good luck everyone - you have all worked really hard and get ready for it to show!
