This International Women’s Month, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible women who lead and inspire our community.

Meet Rebecca, Director of Programming at St. Clair O’Connor Community.

Aside from her love of Morgan Wallen, the colour pink and Zella, her French Bulldog, Rebecca is leading major projects not only at SCOC but across the East York community. She is the founder of , where she has distributed more than 100 bags filled with essential items to communities across North York, East York, and downtown Toronto. Through this initiative, she empowers both older adults and children to find meaningful ways to support those in need.

Rebecca also brings over a decade of experience in supportive housing, retirement homes, and the long-term care sector. As Director of Programming, she is helping transform senior care through innovative, person-directed approaches that empower older adults to live with dignity and choice.

And she’s not slowing down anytime soon! This fall, Rebecca will be competing in the highly competitive HYROX fitness competition, a true reflection of her dedication and drive.

With over 15 years of nursing experience, Charlene is dedicated to creating environments where elders can live with, purpose, and community.

This month, Charlene will represent SCOC at the Eden Alternative Conference in Atlanta, joining leaders from around the world to explore innovative approaches to person-directed care.

Her commitment to compassionate leadership and continuous learning helps inspires us, truly.
