Today, Lucas received 350 units of Botox in his wrists, arms, and legs to help manage his spasticity. 💉💙 He handled it like the strong little warrior he is! 💪🏻✨

Afterwards, we headed over to T&T, where Lucas picked out a delicious mango cake 🥭🍰 to enjoy during some much-deserved rest and relaxation at home. 🏡💙

Now it’s time to put his feet up, enjoy some cake, and take it easy! 😴🧸🍰

So proud of you, Lucas! 💙💪🏻 You are one amazing kiddo! 🌟

We had such a great day in Caledon with Mery and Chanda! ❤️

Our first stop was lunch at the beautiful Terra Cotta Inn, where we enjoyed delicious grilled salmon with fresh vegetables. 🐟🥦🍋 Everything was so tasty! 😋 After lunch, we took a lovely stroll around Terra Cotta and enjoyed the peaceful scenery. 🌳🚶‍♀️🍃

Then we headed over to Belfountain for lattes ☕️ and yummy treats at the Belfountain Café. 🧁🍪 There’s nothing better than good food, great company, and a relaxing afternoon! 💕✨

On our way home, we made a stop at Spirit Tree for some fresh bread 🍞 and COWS butter from Prince Edward Island. 🧈🇨🇦

And then came the most unexpected part of our day… 🦃😂 We spotted a WILD TURKEY on Boston Mills Road! Definitely not something you see every day! 😄

Such a wonderful day filled with good food, beautiful scenery, laughter, and great company. ❤️🌿☕️🍞🦃

Sometimes the best days are the simple ones! 💕✨

Lucas and I had such a wonderful day in St. Jacobs with my sister Stacie! ❤️ What a perfect little country getaway filled with good food, shopping, laughs, and lots of great conversation. 🚗🌾

From the beautiful country drive 🚜🌳 to shopping for fresh fruits and vegetables from the local farmers 🍎🥕🍓, we soaked up all the charm St. Jacobs has to offer!

We enjoyed fresh perogies 🥟, sampled some yummy treats from the Mennonite Bakery 🥨🍪, and even picked up a brand-new broom from Hamel Brooms, a business that has been making brooms since 1908! 🧹✨

And of course, we couldn’t pass up the roadside flower stands! 💐🌸 Fresh bouquets for just $10 — what a beautiful bargain! 😍

A simple day filled with the sweetest memories, delicious treats, beautiful flowers, and quality family time. ❤️

This popped up in my memories today and brought so much joy into my heart. ❤️🥹

This is my mom and Lucas on August 16, 2013. 💕 This photo was taken about 2½ years into her hard battle with cancer, and just 1 year and 10 days before she passed away. 💔

That day, we simply enjoyed being together at Chinguacousy Park—riding the little train 🚂, going on the pony rides 🐴, and making memories that I treasure more than words can say. ❤️

Looking back at this picture, I can almost feel the happiness of that day all over again. These are the moments I’m so grateful were captured in a photograph. 📸✨

Boy, do I miss her. 😢❤️
I miss her laugh, her presence, her love, and all the ordinary little moments that I wish we could have back.

Forever grateful for these memories. Forever grateful she got to share them with Lucas. ❤️👩‍👦💙

We just couldn’t resist jumping on the bandwagon with the new Harry Potter doughnuts at Tim Hortons! 🧙‍♀️🍩✨

So today, we headed over to grab one for Lucas to enjoy after dinner. ❤️

Of course, we had to go with Gryffindor! 🦁❤️💛 The strawberry flavour was an easy choice because strawberry is one of Lucas’ favourite! 🍓😍

And how cute is the presentation?! 🥰🍩✨ The Harry Potter-themed details make this little treat feel extra magical. 🪄📚

As a parent of a child who has worn AFOs (Ankle-Foot Orthotics) since he was just 1 year old, I have developed a very strange attachment to these little pieces of plastic that most people would probably simply see as garbage once they are unworn. 🥹💙

But when you live with AFOs every day, they become so much more than that. They become an extension of your child—providing stability, positioning, support and comfort as they grow and navigate the world. 🌎✨

And then… they grow. 📏👦➡️🧑

They are casted and fitted for a brand-new, completely customized pair. 👣🛠️ The old ones no longer fit and, because they are so specifically made for each individual child, they generally can’t be passed along or donated for someone else to use. Sadly, they often end up becoming waste. ♻️😔

I’ve had a particularly hard time getting rid of some of Lucas’ teenage AFOs. They represent years of growth, challenges, accomplishments and memories. 💙

Today, while we were at Orthotic Dimensions picking up his new wrist orthotics, Mary Miller suggested something so simple but meaningful: take a photo of them before saying goodbye. 📸🥰

So that’s exactly what I did!

Here are the last two pairs of AFOs that helped Lucas from ages 13 to 15. 🦶💙

They may be old orthotics, but to me, they represent two very important chapters in Lucas’ journey. 💙

Sometimes it’s not about keeping the physical thing… it’s about honouring what it helped your child accomplish. 🥰🌟

Lucas and I had such a great day in Toronto’s Distillery District celebrating Toronto’s Country Festival with Nicolle and Emelly! 🥰❤️🌵👢

We enjoyed some fantastic live entertainment from Charissa 🎤🎶, followed by a delicious lunch at Miller Street Brewery — grilled salmon 🐟 and calamari 🦑. Yum! 😋🍽️

Of course, no fun day is complete without dessert! 🍰🍓 We stopped at The Sweet Escape Patisserie for some delicious treats, and then couldn’t resist taking home some amazing chocolate from SOMA Chocolatemaker. 🍫🤎✨

Such a fun-filled day of music, food, friendship, laughter and sweet treats! 🎶🤠🍽️🍫❤️

☀️🌊 What started as a morning appointment turned into the perfect summer adventure! 🚢🏝️💙

After spending our morning at SickKids for Lucas’ dental appointment 🦷✨, we just couldn’t head straight home… it was far too beautiful of a sunny Toronto day! ☀️🌆 So we hopped on the ferry ⛴️ and made our way over to Ward’s Island for one of our favourite adventures! 🥰

We wandered along the peaceful trails 🌳, enjoyed the gorgeous beach 🏖️, admired the adorable island cottages 🏡, checked out the fire station 🚒, soaked in the incredible city skyline 🌇, and spotted some amazing wildlife 🐦🦆🐿️… including a few snakes! 🐍😲

From there we hiked all the way over to Centre Island 🚶‍♀️♿🚶‍♂️ where we stopped for a delicious lunch at the Carousel Café 🍔🍟. Our BBQ chicken breast sandwich and fries totally hit the spot! 😋❤️

Of course, no trip to Centreville is complete without a little fun! 🎠🎡🎢 And just before catching the ferry home, we picked up a yummy BeaverTail 🍁🍩 to enjoy later during our cozy movie night at home! 🎬🍿💕

One of the best parts of the day was meeting so many friendly people along the way 😊❤️, and then having the sweetest surprise when we bumped into Lucas’ elementary school PLASP teacher, Mrs. Olive! 🍎💙 Lucas was so excited to see her again, and it made our day even more special! 🥹🥰

The Toronto Islands will always be one of my happy places. 🌿💚 I would absolutely love to take one of the island tours someday, but they really need wheelchair-accessible golf carts so everyone can enjoy the experience. ♿💙 We’re going to reach out to the City of Toronto and see if this is something they would consider adding. Accessibility matters, and everyone deserves the chance to explore these beautiful islands! 🌎❤️

Today Lucas had his biannual dental exam and cleaning at SickKids, and he did absolutely FANTASTIC! 🎉👏 I am so proud of how brave and cooperative he was. 💪😊

The best news? 🪥✨ His teeth look great! 😁🦷💙

As Lucas continues to grow, today also marked the beginning of another new chapter. Because he’ll soon (1.5 years) be turning 18, SickKids has sent a referral for him to transition his dental care to Mount Sinai Hospital’s Dental Clinic. 🏥💙 While it’s bittersweet to be moving on from the incredible team at SickKids, we’re so grateful for the amazing care they’ve provided over the years. ❤️. We will be back here 3-4 more times before he is 18

Way to go, Lucas! 🌟 You handled everything like a champ, and we couldn’t be prouder! 🥰💙🎉

What a FUN-filled adventure! 🎉💙🎢

Lucas had a good time spending the day at Canada’s Wonderland 🎡🎠 with Sophia, his amazing worker from Brampton Caledon Community Living! ❤️😊

From exciting rides 🎢 to lots of laughs 😂, smiles 😄, and making wonderful memories 📸✨, it was a day full of fun and adventure! 🌞🎉

A huge thank you to Sophia for making the day so special and for all the kindness, encouragement, and support you give Lucas. 💕 Your care helps create unforgettable experiences and so much joy! 🌈🥰

We love seeing Lucas out in the community, trying new things, building friendships, and making memories that will last a lifetime! 💙🌟
