Last week, we celebrated a meaningful graduation ceremony for our Recipe for Success and Upper Shelf Internship Program 2025 winter cohorts.

These incredible individuals have worked hard and shown consistency and determination to grow and learn and develop into stronger, more resilient versions of themselves, that are prepared for the job market and for life. At Ve’ahavta, the journey doesn’t stop at graduation. Our program participants form a beautiful, supportive, growing community. Earlier this month, program alumni gathered for our annual Alumni Holiday Party to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and celebrate the holiday season. We had fun!

When we met Ijeoma, a refugee from Nigeria, she was living in a shelter with her 3 kids, and didn’t know where to start to rebuild her life.

At Ve’ahavta, she found the support system and learning she needed to reset and start building her and her family’s future in Canada.

Ijeoma is among 300 people who journeyed from poverty to independence in the last year thanks to Ve’ahavta donors.
