Provincial officials. Practitioner roundtable. 3 CPD hours.

If your clients are asking about Manitoba or Newfoundland & Labrador β€” this is the session to be in.

CAPIC's Government Series goes straight to the source. On June 18, representatives from both provinces will walk through their Provincial Nominee Programs β€” current priorities, active streams, and what actually supports a successful application. Then experienced RCICs take the table to share what working with these programs looks like in practice.

This is the kind of direct access that changes how you advise clients.

Indonesia and Malaysia added to eTA eligibility β€” effective May 26, 2026.

Regulations Amending the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (Electronic Travel Authorization) β€” SOR/2026-87 β€” were registered on May 20, 2026 and came into force May 26, 2026.

What this means for your practice: eligible citizens of Indonesia and Malaysia can now apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) instead of a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).

This is the kind of regulatory update your CAPIC membership keeps you ahead of.

Read the full amendment in the Canada Gazette and check section 7.01 of the IRPR for eligibility. https://gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p2/2026/2026-06-03/html/sor-dors87-eng.html

Canada just launched its national AI strategy β€” and for immigration professionals, it's worth paying attention.

Prime Minister Carney's AI for All strategy targets $200 billion in economic growth, 250,000 new AI-related jobs, and a jump in AI adoption from 12% to 60% by 2034. That's a significant shift in how government services, workplaces, and regulated professions will operate.

At CAPIC-ACCPI, we're watching closely β€” particularly what this means for how RCICs and RISIAs serve clients, access tools, and navigate an increasingly AI-integrated regulatory environment.

CAPIC In The Room β€” IRB Consultative Committee

Did you know the IRB finalized 107,000 decisions in 2025 β€” while the RPD inventory sits at nearly 300,000 claims?

CAPIC representatives Mia Loebach-Readings and Alex Ning attended the IRB Consultative Committee meeting, where discussions covered Bill C-12 implementation, AI guidance, MyCase enhancements, inventory management, and operational priorities across all four IRB divisions.

Key topics included new presence-in-Canada requirements, the future of file review processing, scheduling challenges, and coordination between IRCC, CBSA, and the IRB.

This is what your CAPIC membership delivers β€” representation at the table where decisions are discussed, and a full member update so you know exactly what was said.

πŸ“„ Full meeting summary is available in IMMeCentre` β€” log in to your dashboard to access it. https://capicconnect-secure.azurewebsites.net/Identity/Account/Login?returnUrl=%2FIMMeCentre%2FImmeCentreDocView%3FResourceSectionAttachmentID%3D75f70bc7-ec6e-453c-9fa1-08dec0c8dcea

🌟 That's a wrap on NCIC 2026 β€” what a two days!

To every attendee, speaker, sponsor, and volunteer who made this conference possible β€” thank you. The energy in that room was something special, and the conversations that happened over these two days will shape how our profession moves forward.

If you were there β€” we hope you left inspired, informed, and reconnected with your community. πŸ’™

If you couldn't make it this year β€” it's not too late. Video access is open on CAPIC Connect!

The same speakers. The same government officials. The same candid conversations that attendees are still talking about.

Direct dialogue with IRCC β€” the people making the decisions β€” moderated alongside industry experts. That's NCIC. This kind of insight doesn't come from a Google search.
