Loyan Foundation

Loyan Foundation The Loyan Foundation is a registered charitable organization, based in the City of Toronto. That year 52 people died as a result of gun violence.

We are committed to the elimination of violence, particularly among people within the African Canadian Community. In 2005, the City of Toronto lived through the notorious “Summer of the Gun”. Third year York University student Loyan Gilao was out with a friend at a nightlclub when he was senselessly shot and killed. This killing galvanized the community and led to the formation of the Loyan Foundation
