📍 Remembering 9/11

In the days and weeks following September 11, 2001, Canadians from coast to coast stepped forward to help those affected by the tragedy. From welcoming stranded travellers and opening emergency shelters to providing meals, offering emotional and spiritual care, communities across Canada demonstrated remarkable compassion and service.

To honour those who answered the call, commemorative challenge coins have been created to recognize the dedication of Salvation Army staff, volunteers, and responders who supported relief efforts across Canada and assisted in New York City.

These coins serve as a lasting tribute to their commitment, sacrifice, and the spirit of helping others in times of crisis. These coins will be distributed to those who responded in the weeks to come.

We are proud to recognize these individuals and the role Canadians played in the response to 9/11.

*These challenge coins will be distributed to those who responded within The Salvation Army within the next few weeks. If you have any questions about the distribution of the coins, please email [email protected]
For folks who responded with The Salvation Army within Canada and to the USA for this response, if you could email the above email to confirm we have your proper address, coins will be sent to you through mail

📍Heat preparedness ☀️

With warm weather it’s important to stay cool, stay hydrated and stay informed.

Know what to do when it’s really hot out and take precautions to lower the risk of heat related illnesses.

Staying informed about the weather conditions can help you and your family stay safe. Especially when warm weather brings thunderstorms and the risk of tornadoes.

Make sure you and your family are prepared for those hot days and know what to do if you get stuck in a storm.

📍London, ON

In London it has been five years since the loss of Our London Family, we join the city in remembrance and reflection of this tragic event.

As we remember, we honour the Afzaal family, take the time to send healing thoughts, stand against Islamophobia and hate, and share the importance of having safe and welcoming communities for all.
