👨🏻‍🌾 Last August, our Settlement Program – in partnership with Agincourt Community Services Association – was able to take 40 Filipino families on a trip to Pingle’s Farm.

🍓 They enjoyed a day full of classic farm activities like picking seasonal fruit, enjoying locally made goods, and being close to the beautiful nature Ontario has to offer.

Thank you to all who registered! Special thank you to ACSA Community Services for making this event possible.

Today, we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

As a multicultural organization serving newcomers to Canada, Kababayan Multicultural Centre recognizes the importance of learning about the histories, cultures and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples, and acknowledging the lands on which we live, work and build our communities.

For us, this is also part of the kababayan spirit — caring for one another, respecting the land and its peoples, and recognizing our shared responsibility to learn.

Kababayan Multicultural Centre commits to doing our part for Indigenous communities by acknowledging the injustices done to the Indigenous people of Canada and learning more about how we can be better allies everyday.

📸 Aga Khan Museum Tour & Picnic at Edwards Garden

Near the end of August last month, we took our Seniors to the beautiful Khan Museum where they learned about old and new Muslim art.

💃🏻 We then ended the day at Edwards Garden, sharing meals with one another on picnic blankets, playing games, and - as always - dancing Zumba.

Thanks to all our senior community for their support and for making all our trips together memorable and fun!

🚌 We will see you this weekend for our 1000 Islands tour in Kingston, Ontario!
