Freedom On Ice Foundation was founded by Laura Levtov of Toronto, Canada. Laura fell in love with the country and the childfren.

After her maiden voyage to Nepal, May 2010, with her son Mark Harris, she new her life would never look the same. Freedom On Ice, Nepal aims to help rural give Nepali children the opportunity to compete in education at an international level.

Our Story

We have a DREAM.....to change the lives of children through Education by offering Academic Scholarships in an English Education, and our FREEDOM ACADEMY.....a Center of Excellence for Music, Art, Dance, Drama and English classes for the village of Melamchi. Bringing a Childhood back to Children. I Laura Levtov, the founding director grew up as a Figure Skater and could not imagine what my life would have looked like without that amazing opportunity. I understand the value and life lessons learned through sports and the arts. My dream is to bring this to the village of Melamchi. I was living in the village of Melamchi, Nepal in April 2015 when the earthquake hit. We had just opened up our community center for the children the previous evening, after a month of renovations. We lost everything. The love and care the village showed me during this most horrific time is a memory that lives with me forever. Coming home to the village and creating our Freedom Academy is my proudest moment in my life.
