REmarket's got you covered.

As always, we'll be accepting a wide range of items for donation.

Our FreeMarket, repair cafe, and bike repair services will also be back, and we've expanded the list of items we can accept for recycling. We are now also accepting select household hazardous waste (HHW) products.

Join us for Scarborough Zero Waste’s next repair Café on May 23rd from 10am to 1pm at the Scarborough Citadel to fix your damaged clothing and faulty small appliances! Our fixers will welcome you and do their best to help you while showing you how to fix things the next time something breaks!

We are looking for volunteers to help us sew and repair clothes as well as small appliances. If you want to help, contact us please!

As you may know, SZW’s mission is to promote a circular economy in Scarborough as this would help create local channels and ease the second hand economy. This is why we are adding a “Drop box” to our Repair café where participants can drop items in need or items that do not belong in the garbage bin (but can still be recycled). Here are the items:

- Egg Cartons: We have noticed that food banks need egg cartons to better serve their community. That’s why we are inviting you to drop as many as you can. We will distribute them to the proper location.
- Brita items (filters and bottles) and Swiffer items (all kinds of mops but not the heads nor the handlers) : Our member Anne is involved in the program and she can take care of those items that don’t go in the City of Toronto Recycling program.
- Reusable bags: Who doesn’t have extra reusable bags home nowadays? Instead of throwing them in the garbage (since they are rarely recyclable), bring them to us and we will give them to a food bank who can use it!

Please note that registration ends at 12:30.
Reminder : please bring clean clothes for them to be repaired

Wow! 1000 followers! It’s a big step on IG right? With No Ads! Goof old « All organic growth » :-) Thank you all for your support. Thank you for following us! The truth is that behind this social media milestone, our group still needs more help. Our finances are more healthy than three years ago but we depend heavily on volunteers to run our events. This is an invitation to check our call for volunteers in our Bio. We need help for a couple of hours a year, a couple of hours a month and a couple of hours a week :)

You're invited to a Repair Cafe at Scarborough Village Recreation Centre on Sat. April 18, 10 am to 1 pm. Bring your broken small appliances or clean clothing to be fixed. No alterations please. Experienced sewers and small appliance repair people will do their best to fix your items for FREE! See the attached flyer for location and more info.
