We will be joined on day two by Micheal Miller, Amber Crowe and Barbara Fallon as they discuss the First Nations Ontario Incident Study. See below for description

The First Nations Ontario Incidence Study of Reported Child Abuse and Neglect-2023 (FNOIS-2023). The FNOIS-2023 is a study of child welfare investigations involving First Nations children which is embedded within a larger, cyclical provincial study: the Ontario Incidence Study of Reported Child Abuse and Neglect study to examine the incidence of reported child maltreatment and the characteristics of the children and families investigated by child protection services in Ontario.

Join us for ANCFSAO’s annual Elder’s Panel. 🌱📣

This year the panelists Phil Jones, Marlene Kapashesit, and Jean McGregor Andrews (not pictured) will be discussing the theme of “Seeds of Tomorrow” and working through perspectives from their stages of life. 

The panelists will discuss current trends within the child wellbeing sector in Ontario, best practices, and how we should be moving forward together for a better future for Indigenous youth and families.🌱

PANEL ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

Aaniin – Boozhoo – Wachay - Kwey Kwey – Shekon – Tansi – Hello,  🪶🪶🪶

We are honoured to feature our plenary speakers for the Preventing Anti-Human Trafficking & Gender-Based Violence: Empowering Youths, Workers and Caregivers panel that will be held on December 9th 2025 at the Annual Indigenous Child and Family Wellbeing Conference 2025: Seeds of Tomorrow🌱

The panel, consisting of lived and learned experts, will demystify human trafficking, provide examples of the rapidly evolving trends and landscape highlighting challenges and barriers experienced by practitioners in identification and response and will offer practical recommendations to empower and equip caregivers and workers with knowledge and tools in safeguarding our most vulnerable from falling victim to exploitation. Wrapping around our children, youth, women and men to ensure we bring up healthy generations and nurture tomorrow’s seeds.

The conference will offer additional presentations on the subject of human trafficking, adverse early childhood trauma and exploitation during our concurrent workshop offerings. We are excited to announce our 2025 Youth Panelists for the Annual Indigenous Child and Family Wellbeing Conference 2025: Seeds of Tomorrow. 🌱

Join us as we welcome three of our Provincial Indigenous Youth Advisory members to the main stage to discuss the themes of the conference; “Seeds of Tomorrow”. The panel will dive into questions around barriers were currently facing, promising practices, and building a better tomorrow together. 🌱
