🚀We’re marking this special evening with the official launch of IN HER FLO: A LEGACY OF EDUCATION, edited by Loris Thomas. Discover a moving collection of testimonials celebrating Florence’s life, impact, and dedication.
Come for the inspiration, stay for the community!

The book will be available for purchase, and light refreshments will be served.

Looking for something meaningful to do before heading to Carnival tomorrow? Join us for Emancipation on Bloor.

Start your Carnival Day with community, culture and celebration as we walk together from Christie Pits to Bathurst and Bloor in recognition of Emancipation Day.

The morning will include music, drumming, dancing and community spirit. Following the walk, the celebration will continue at Bathurst and Bloor with refreshments and a community mapping activity.

⏰ Walk: 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM
📍 Meet at Christie Pits at 9:00 AM
🚶🏾 Walk to Bathurst and Bloor
🗺️ Community mapping activity begins at 10:00 AM
🎉 Free and open to all ages

The walk ends at 10:00 AM, so those heading to Carnival can continue with their plans afterward. Everyone is also welcome to stay for the mapping activity and refreshments.

TONIGHT! Join us for the 2026 Emancipation Underground Freedom Train Ride.

Meet us at 10:30 PM at Transit Park, outside Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, as we travel together to Union Station in recognition and celebration of Emancipation, Black farming in Ontario, and the connection between food, land and freedom.

Please consider bringing a non-perishable food donation to support local food banks.

Happening tonight at Blackhurst Cultural Centre.

Join us for This Felt Safe, a short film screening and discussion exploring digital safety, social engineering, online scams, cyberbullying, privacy, cybersecurity, and trust in the digital world.

The event will feature a live introduction by Makafui Bokor, Cybersecurity Educator, Founder of ADENTITI Limited, and author of Bridge: Closing the Cybersecurity Gap for Small Businesses. After the screening, guests will be invited into a community discussion and audience Q&A.

This is a timely conversation for students, parents, professionals, small business owners, and anyone who wants to better understand how to protect themselves and their community online.
