Well done to all the members who attended the Virtual IIC/IUC this past weekend.
Day 1 - IICV consisted of a fantastic warmup and stretching routine by Master William Howard, a presentation on the science behind Taekwon-Do technique and power development by GM Ebel Barat, and all the 1st and 2nd Degree patterns - led by GM Trevor Nicholls and GM Nestor Galarraga.
Day 2 - IUCV consisted of a very important talk from GM Trevor Nicholls discussing the various roles and expectations of INO/MO's, Masters, Instructors and Members within the ITF. GM Nestor Galarraga and Master Maidana reviewed the tournament rules and amendments, plus an informative session on how to conduct proper judging for power breaking. Master Boitano gave an informative talk on Adapted Taekwon-Do, how it should be judged in tournaments, and to promote inclusiveness of students with different conditions.
The weekend also had a Grand Master Class for the Kup levels.
It consisted of an interesting talk by GM Mario Troiano on the history and philosophy of Taekwon-Do. It was followed by all the colour belt patterns from Chon-Ji to Choong-Moo led by GM Trevor Nicholls, GM Nestor Galarraga and Master Jose Maidana.
Many areas were covered over the weekend's events, and it was fantastic for learning and reinforcement of technique.
The structure and organization of the event were fantastic.
It was a well-rounded, highly beneficial weekend with many points to take away, practice and ponder. Technical areas that present confusion were covered and cleared up. It's so important to attend these events as all official updates are disseminated to the world through IIC's. To be sure you are performing and passing knowledge on to your students correctly, these seminars are a MUST.
Well done to all the students in attendance. Your dedication and commitment are admirable. Thank you to all involved in the organization and running of the event.
Taekwon!
