The Pawsibility Project

The Pawsibility Project The Pawsibility Project is a community project based in Toronto created to raise money and awareness for Autism Dog Services (http://autismdogservices.ca).

'Service dogs for children with autism are one of the fastest growing service dog programs in the world. In the 1990’s, 1 in 250 children were diagnosed with autism. Today, 1 in 65 children are diagnosed with autism. Since ADS began in 2007, the organization has placed over 85 service dogs.'

Currently, there are more than 60 families on a wait list at ADS to receive a dog. And in the words of Eri

n, a mother of two autistic boys, she expressed that ‘being put on another wait list can be one of the most frustrating challenges as a parent of an autistic child. With autism every second, every minute and every day counts'. Early intensive intervention, it is said, is the key to "optimal outcomes" for autistic children*. Our objective is to ensure that more of these beautiful dogs (and companions) are placed into the homes of families with autistic children, and at a faster rate. As a result, we want to provide more love, support and independence for the child within and around the home. Our end goal is to raise at least $5,000 for ADS and create a greater awareness, not only for that organization, but for of the importance of these service dogs in the world. We're about to launch a product for you to buy to support our cause. Stay tuned for our project updates in 2016! We appreciate your support and your attention. We know there are so many incredible and important initiatives in the world that require your attention. So thanks for taking the time to help us out! Love, The Pawsibility Makers!
