Good day fellow QOR Rifleman,



I have been asked to be the OPI again for this year’s Warrior’s Day Parade to be held at the CNE on Saturday, August 22nd.



The Warrior’s Day Parade is one of the few opportunities, other than Remembrance Day, for the Association and serving members to parade as a group in front of the public each year.



This is also a great opportunity for us Association members to get together and socialize for a few hours and of course the larger the group on parade the better we look.

Of special interest this year the 2026 Reviewing Officer for the Warrior's Day Parade is none other than a prior commanding officier of the Regiment Colonel Frank D. Lamie, CD, who now serves as the Commander of 32 Canadian Brigade Group.

One of the greatest challenges we historically seem to have as a Regiment is to get everyone to show up wearing the same uniform and headdress so here is what the suggested dress will be. If you do not have the suggested summer dress you are still welcome to join us!



Dress: Association Summer Dress

Shirt - short sleeve white shirt – more details below for where to acquire them.

Pants - grey flannel

Shoes - black oxfords

Ascot - NO!

Headdress - your choice of whichever beret you would like to wear - green, maroon, or UN blue.



Accoutrements - QORA slip-ons, ribbons, wings, specialty badges, whistle & cord



Timings: Muster 0930, Form up 1000 and take a picture, Step off 1030 hrs.



Location: Gore Park, directly south of Fort York Armoury



Warrior's Day Parade is fast approaching and part of our registration is letting the parade know how many will be in our group - please RSVP by August 10th and let me know if you will be in attendance. Both serving and Association members are welcome to attend and march with us.



This is not an exclusive invitation to select past and present members of the Regiment all are welcome. Having said that I am not sure if I have the email addresses for everyone who might be interested in joining us so if you think anyone has been missed please pass this email on to them.

2. Please note that parking at the CNE is very limited - arrive early. Only Veterans having an Ontario Veterans (Poppy) license plate will be eligible for free parking in the underground parking lot at the Enercare Centre, off Strachan Avenue.

3. Free Family tickets to the Canadian National Exhibition grounds will be issued to and are only for the use of Canadian or Allied Veterans, or members and ex-members of the Canadian Armed Forces, and their IMMEDIATE FAMILIES. (uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins do not qualify as immediate family). 4. Veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces can ride for free on GO Transit and the UP Express any day of the year when travelling with their Veteran’s Service Card or a Canadian Military Service ID. This includes both regular and reserve force members.

Fellow Veterans,

We are pleased to extend an open invitation for you to join us on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Canadian National Exhibition and march in the 105th Anniversary Warriors’ Day Parade.
In recent years, some veterans have told us they have hesitated to participate because they do not own, or no longer have, an unofficial “suggested” uniform such as a blazer, beret, or association tie. We want to make it clear that these items are entirely optional.
Your presence is what matters most. Whether you choose to wear a uniform, association attire or civilian clothing, you are welcome and encouraged to join us as we commemorate this important occasion together.
The true value of these gatherings is not found in any particular attire, but in the people who answered the call to serve when it mattered most. You carry the legacy of service through your lived experiences, your steadfast contributions, and the sacrifices you have made along the way.
Having earned that distinction through years of dedication, commitment, and sacrifice, you do not owe anyone a specific wardrobe to validate your service. Your presence, your character, and the impact of your contributions speak far more powerfully than any uniform ever could.
Service is not defined by what you wear—it is defined by what you have done, the values you uphold, and the legacy you continue to carry forward.
Whether you choose to wear a suit, a jacket, or casual clothes, you are a valued part of this community. If you have been staying away because you feel you don't "look the part," please put those concerns aside and join us.
We don't care what you're wearing—we care that you're there, standing alongside your peers and sharing in the camaraderie you earned through your service. Your service is your uniform, and that alone is more than enough to welcome you to any event.
We genuinely look forward to seeing you there.
