The Summer Lecture Series runs from May to August, with local Egyptologists speak on popular topics chosen by the membership. SSEA Toronto also runs "mini-courses" and a mult-disciplinary mini-symposium. The most lectures are free of charge and open to all. There is a small charge to non-members to attend the summer lectures, and certain selected public lectures. Most events include refreshments and a draw for a prize. The courses are run at a reduced cost to members and students: $125 general public; $100 members; $50 students. The Toronto Chapter also organizes social events such as movie nights and an Annual New Year's Party. SSEA-Toronto has also offered travel grants and scholarships to students who wish to do research in Egypt.
