Malvern Family Resource Centre is a multi-service social service agency providing a variety of programs and services to residents in the Scarborough North and Scarborough Rouge Park ridings. This agency has been in the community for the past thirty-eight years and has experienced steady growth to keep up with the needs of the community. It is an agency with a reputation for integrity, quality programs and services, qualified and dedicated personnel, and committed funders.

It’s a relationship that helps local farmers, brings locally grown ingredients into the food she creates and keeps more of our food rooted in community.

A familiar dish, a conversation with someone new, the feeling of belonging. Food brings us together and reminds us that we are part of something bigger.

We know that rising food costs are making things tougher for many families. By sharing food and caring for each other, we can help ease that burden and remember that we are not alone.

At MFRC, we see this kindness every day from community, volunteers, staff, donors and supporters who help make a difference. That’s something to be thankful for: a community where we all show up for each other.

We need to make room for the stories, histories and lived experiences of Indigenous People in what we learn, the conversations that we have and how we show up in our communities.

We are incredibly grateful to the Toronto Fresh Air Fund for providing subsidized camp spaces, helping make it possible for more children and families in our community to experience the joy, connection, and adventure of summer camp. 💛

We were also privileged to welcome Meghan Halverson from the Toronto Star Children's Charities to visit our summer camps and see firsthand the meaningful experiences our campers and staff create each day. It was wonderful to share our programs, introduce her to our campers, and showcase the impact that accessible summer programming has on children and families.

A big thank you to the Toronto Fresh Air Fund for investing in our children and community, and to Meghan for taking the time to visit us! ☀️🌳💛
