The Jesuit Forum would like to remind everyone of the coming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 2025 on Tuesday, September 30th This day provides an opportunity for all Canadians to reflect and honour survivors of residential schools and those who have supported them. We also remember the children that never returned home.

As part of the Catholic community we recognize this painful history and acknowledge our historical involvement in the residential school system. We seek opportunities to discern how we can participate in the journey towards healing, reconciliation and hope through education and advocation.

Below is a link to a list of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation events across Canada, courtesy of our partner Kairos Canada. Hopefully you and your family, friends, and colleagues will be able to locate a gathering near you to meaningly participate in this special day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Albertan children are being denied access to education because of their parents’ precarious immigration status.

We have become aware recently of this through Whitney Haynes, of the Alberta Workers Association for Research and Education.

Please join us on October 6th @ 5:00 MT / 7:00 pm ET to learn more about this surprising reality within Canada, and learn how we can help these children have access to education, no matter their status.
