Minstrel Foundation The Minstrel Foundation supports arts and music programs, scholarships and summer music camps to benefit underprivileged youth and young adults in Toronto.

The Minstrel Foundation’s mission is to fund music and arts programs, music camps and advanced studies in music and arts for students in our inner city and new immigrant communities in need of financial assistance. Your support truly makes a big difference to young lives and helps them belong and feel good about themselves. Music education not only enhances a child’s academic performance in math a

nd science, it also engenders teamwork, communication and other social skills that are critical to success as an adult. Since 1998, the Minstrel Foundation has raised over $2.3 million to support its programs. The following are some of the programs we support whose needs are growing each year. Summer Camps

For the second year, the Minstrel Foundation was not able to hold its annual fund raising Gala because of Covid restrictions. In its place we are again conducting an online video campaign which began in December and will continue into the early part of the new year. We are honoured that Elaine Taylor Plummer has given her support by allowing us to use extracts from Christopher Plummer’s narration of our 2020 video campaign. His narration of last year’s video was the last project he completed before his death last February. This year our video features students from the Dixon Hall Music School and its director Bob McKitrick and is produced by Tynan Studio. View the video here: https://www.minstrelfoundation.org
