What an incredible day!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the 46th Annual Terry Fox Run at Wilket Creek Park. Whether you ran, walked, rode, volunteered, donated, or cheered from the sidelines, you helped make this year’s event truly special.

Together, our community is on track to raise more than $800,000 for cancer research! ❤️

But beyond the fundraising, what makes this event so meaningful is the community that comes together year after year in support of Terry’s dream.

From Run Weekend and the many Run-Walk Clubs and individuals who participated, to our dedicated volunteers, merchandise sales, the Terry Fox Golf Tournament, and countless fundraising efforts across our community, this campaign was powered by the passion, generosity, and dedication of hundreds of supporters.

An event run by the community, for the community. ❤️ It takes so many people coming together behind the scenes and on Run Day to make this possible, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part.

Thank you for helping us continue Terry’s Marathon of Hope and for reminding us what we can accomplish when we come together for a cause bigger than ourselves.

✅ Registration opens at 8:00 a.m.
✅ Opening welcome begins at 8:45 a.m.
✅ Run starts between 9:00- 9:15 a.m.
✅ Stay for family activities, live entertainment, and a community BBQ

A look back at the Marathon of Hope and the moments that inspired a nation.

April 12, 1980 | St. John’s, Newfoundland
KM: 0
Terry begins the Marathon of Hope by dipping his artificial leg into the Atlantic Ocean and setting out on his journey across Canada to raise money for cancer research. Despite cold temperatures and difficult conditions, his dream is already bigger than the road ahead.

May 25, 1980 | Charlottetown, PEI
KM: 1699
After weeks of battling freezing temperatures, wind, and low public attention, Terry is welcomed by enthusiastic crowds in Charlottetown. The growing support helps fuel his determination and proves Canadians are starting to embrace his mission.

June 15, 1980 | Quebec City, Quebec
KM: 2663
What began as one man’s dream is becoming a national movement. As Terry arrives in Quebec City, media attention grows and more Canadians learn about the Marathon of Hope and the cause behind every mile.

July 10, 1980 | Ontario
KM: 3508
As Terry makes his way through Ontario, support for the Marathon of Hope continues to grow. Along the journey, he shares special moments with family, including time spent with his parents, whose love and encouragement helped shape the determination that inspired a nation.

August 12, 1980 | Northern Ontario
KM: 4675
Day after day, Terry continues to push forward through some of the most challenging stretches of his journey. Running nearly a marathon every day, he remains focused on his goal of raising money and awareness for cancer research.

September 1, 1980 | Near Thunder Bay, Ontario
After running 5,373 kilometres over 143 days, Terry is forced to stop when cancer returns to his lungs. His Marathon of Hope comes to an end, but his impact is only beginning.

And 46 years later, it does. ❤️

In 1980, Terry Fox set out on the Marathon of Hope with a simple but powerful goal: to raise money for cancer research and inspire change. Over 143 days, he ran 5,373 kilometres across Canada, touching the hearts of millions.

🎤🇨🇦 Meet our National Anthem Performer, Josiah hibbsi

We’re excited to welcome Josiah to the 46th Annual Terry Fox Run at Wilket Creek Park, where he’ll help kick off the morning by performing the Canadian National Anthem.

At just 12 years old, Josiah is an accomplished vocalist, self-taught guitarist and 2025 CNE Rising Stars Grand Champion. We’re proud to have him join our community as we come together to honour Terry’s legacy.

🎤 We’re thrilled to welcome back G U R D E E P as our MC for the 2026 Terry Fox Run!

An award-winning broadcaster and familiar voice and face across Toronto, Gurdeep brings his energy, humour and passion for community to the Terry Fox Run, and we’re so happy to have him back with us this year.

Beyond the microphone, Gurdeep is a longtime supporter of charitable causes and a strong advocate for giving back to the community. We’re grateful to have him helping us bring the day to life.

And yes, he’ll be back on the mic this Sunday, September 20!
