The Ontario Chapter of the Korean Canadian Lawyers Association is hosting a Virtual Mock OCI Workshop for students heading into Ontario OCIs this fall.

You'll sit through a mock interview with a practising lawyer, then receive candid feedback to improve your answers, framing, and presence for the real interviews.

The Ontario Chapter of the Korean Canadian Lawyers Association is seeking lawyer volunteers to serve as mock interviewers at our Virtual Mock OCI Workshop.

The request is 90 minutes of your Saturday morning. You'll conduct a short mock interview and share feedback. Your perspective would be invaluable to students preparing for OCIs.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the KCLA Ontario Summer Social on June 24, 2026, at Duke of Cornwall! It was wonderful to see familiar faces and new ones alike. What a great way to kick off the summer with the World Cup in full swing! ⚽

Please save the date for KCLA’s annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled for June 29. The AGM will be held virtually, 6:30 pm ET/4:30 pm MT/3:30 pm PT. A link to join the AGM will be available in the coming weeks.
At the AGM, members will:
-Vote to fix the number of directors on the Board at seven (7);
-Elect eligible candidates to the Board of Directors;
-Approve the dispensation of the appointment of a public accountant; and
-Attend to any other matters.
More details regarding the AGM will follow.

In connection with the AGM, KCLA is pleased to open the call for submissions of interest for our 2026–2028 Board of Directors. We invite engaged and committed KCLA members to consider putting their names forward for nomination. Serving on the Board is an excellent opportunity to help shape our programming, advance our mission and support Korean Canadian legal professionals across the country.

Eligibility: To be eligible to serve as a director, applicants must be current paid-up KCLA members. Membership must be active both at the time of submission and on June 29 (i.e., the date of the AGM).

How to Submit Nomination: Please submit the following materials (which will be shared with all members as part of the AGM materials):
1. Resume/CV
2. Statement of Interest (maximum 500 words), outlining:
•Why you wish to serve as a director;
•The relevant experience, skills and perspectives you would bring to the Board; and
•Any ideas or areas of particular interest for KCLA’s future initiatives.

Our upcoming KCLA Ontario Chapter Summer Social will take place on Wednesday, June 24 (7 PM–10 PM) at the Duke of Cornwall. We are also excited to share that the International Association of Korean Lawyers (IAKL) will be sharing updates on its upcoming conference in London, England. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the Canadian IAKL Regional Governors and learn about the conference.

The venue will play live coverage of the South Africa vs South Korea FIFA World Cup game starting at 9 PM!
