On June 13, Yee Hong’s Community & Professional Services division had the privilege of joining the Caregiver Support Fair, hosted by the Northern York South Simcoe Ontario Health Team. 💙

We connected with caregivers from Newmarket and partnering agencies, sharing our experiences on how our services can make a difference for vulnerable individuals. The conversations were rich with encouragement, mutual learning, and a shared passion for community care.

We look forward to bringing our support to new communities. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by — we can't wait to continue this journey together! 🤝

Yee Hong Garden Terrace (YHGT), a housing community that is part of Yee Hong’s Community & Professional Services division, launched its annual Clothing Donation Drive this week in support of our long-standing partner, the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy (OFCP). Thanks to the generosity of our residents, today’s donations filled half a truck and will go on to support children and families living with cerebral palsy across Ontario.

Yee Hong’s transportation services continue to grow to better support seniors and caregivers in our community.

With the arrival of 3 new accessible vehicles replacing older units, Yee Hong’s Community & Professional Services now operates a refreshed fleet of 11 vehicles dedicated to supporting seniors across the community by helping them attend adult day programs at Yee Hong Centres, medical appointments, and other daily activities.

These vehicles are specially designed with wheelchair spaces, ambulatory seating, electric bi-fold ramps, and enhanced accessibility features to provide smoother, safer, and more dignified transportation for clients with diverse mobility needs.

This service is more than simply getting from one place to another. It is an essential lifeline that helps seniors remain active, engaged, and connected, while also providing valuable support and respite for caregivers.

Every ride is a connection to community and a step toward independence. Yee Hong remains committed to building a more caring and inclusive community for our seniors. 💞

In March, the Caregiver Education & Support Services Team from Yee Hong’s Community & Professional Services organized a Caregiver Wellness Month, offering a series of activities across the community and Adult Day Programs. These activities provided caregivers with an opportunity to set aside their daily responsibilities enjoy moments of personal healing and self-care.

In addition to a range of health and wellness talks, the program featured sessions led by professional therapists. Through activities such as Pastel Nagomi Art, music, and horticulture, participants were encouraged to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with themselves, helping to relieve the pressures of caregiving.

頤康中心社區及專業服務團隊轄下的護老者支援服務部於三月舉辦了「照顧者關愛月」，在社區及日間長者中心策劃了一系列關愛照顧者的活動，讓護老者能暫時放下日常的重擔與壓力，走進屬於自己的療癒時光。

活動除了涵蓋多場身心健康講座外，亦邀請不同專業治療師帶領參加者透過和諧粉彩、音樂及園藝等活動，讓大家放慢步伐、沉澱心情，整理思緒，與內心對話，從而舒緩照顧壓力。

National Nursing Week is observed May 11–17, with this year’s theme, “The Power of Nurses to Transform Health.” At Yee Hong, we celebrate the incredible nurses and integrated care team members, including personal support workers (PSWs), whose compassion, expertise, and dedication transform care every day.

We are grateful for the calm reassurance, advocacy, dignity, and person-centred care they bring to residents, clients, and families through every stage of life. The power of nursing and care is visible at Yee Hong every day, especially in the trust families place in us and in the outcomes we achieve together.
