Flemingdon Park Ministry

Flemingdon Park Ministry FPM builds community through compassionate service. Our programs focus on bringing people together to break the barriers of isolation and food insecurity.

We are committed to walking alongside our neighbours, offering hope and empowering members of our community to become healthy - in mind, body and spirit. Many of our neighbours are refugees, immigrants and new Canadians, and we are mindful of the challenges they face as they adapt to life in their new homeland. We organize and offer programs to help with their transition and help to build a stronger community. Visitors to Flemingdon Park Ministry are always welcome to drop in during weekday hour for a hot meal, a snack or two, or to just chat. We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive space, where community members can come to hang out, establish connections, and make new friends. Flemingdon Park Ministry continues to seek out new and meaningful ways to establish connections within our community, and to foster hope and empowerment among those in need.

Stayed active and learned together! 🏃‍♀️📚
Our community members had such a great time combining light movement and conversation during our Seniors Exercise and English classes! From gentle, low-impact exercises to boost mobility, to practicing everyday English in a warm, welcoming circle, it was all about connecting and moving together.

Huge thank you to everyone who joined us, moved with us, and shared their energy!

September 30th is Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Today, we pause to remember the children who never returned home, and to honour Survivors, their families, and communities.
Reconciliation starts with the courage to listen, the humility to acknowledge past and ongoing harms, and an unwavering commitment to the truth. At Flemingdon Park Ministry, we know there is strength in our diversity, and that we build a stronger community when we uplift and stand alongside one another.

We stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples today and every day, committing ourselves to continuous learning, listening, and meaningful action. 🧡

Wishing our entire community a wonderful start to the new school year! 🎒📚✨

As summer comes to a close and classes begin this coming Tuesday, September 8th, we want to send our warmest thoughts, encouragement, and blessings to all the students, teachers, educational workers, and parents across Flemingdon Park.
It has been an incredible summer of growth together! From watching our Youth Farmers cultivate fresh produce and learn culinary skills at Common Table Farm, to coming together as a community to hand out packed backpacks during our Back to School distribution, we are so proud of our neighbourhood youth.
To our students: May this year bring exciting discoveries, strong friendships, and confidence in everything you do.
To our educators & school staff: Thank you for your endless dedication, patience, and heart as you guide and inspire our young learners.
Enjoy the long weekend, get plenty of rest, and step into the new school year knowing your community is cheering you on!
