From March 21–27, Tropicana Community Services will observe the Week of Solidarity with Peoples Struggling against Racism and Racial Discrimination.
Across Scarborough and the Greater Toronto Area, hunger is not just a social issue—it is deeply connected to systemic racism and inequality.
African, Caribbean, and Black communities continue to face disproportionate barriers to income, employment, and access to culturally appropriate, nutritious food.
Healthy food is not a luxury.
It is a human right.
Yet when systems fail, families are left choosing between rent and groceries—between survival and well-being.
At Tropicana Community Services, we turn solidarity into action.
Through our Village Pantry Food Bank, we are addressing food insecurity with dignity, cultural relevance, and community care.
Racism is not abstract.
It shows up in access—to food, to health, to opportunity.
And it must be dismantled.
This week, stand with us:
Donate. Advocate. Support community-led solutions
Together, we can build a future rooted in equity, dignity, and nourishment for all.
