Floorwork+
This class focusses on the internal, felt, and external space of dance through directed explorations, and a playful mix of exercises that move in and out of the floor. In locomoting and modulating between different degrees of effort and control, we’ll challenge our individual limits (or what we consider them to be). We’ll explore the interplay between changing directional pulls and experimenting with points of (off)balance while listening to the moving body and its ever-changing relationship with space. We’ll tune our awareness of initiation points, play with release and recovery, work towards finding simple connected pathways through the body - and we’ll have fun together doing it!

Flying Low
This floorwork class combines Kéïta’s vast knowledge in different dance techniques with a focus on David Zambrano’s techniques of Flying Low and Passing Through. These techniques work with physical and invisible spirals within the body and room, to help the dancers go in and out of the floor with ease. This class aims to develop dancers’ comfort in floorwork, challenge them to learn new ways of moving, and find the joy of dancing with community.

💫We’ve made it a distance but before the clock strikes midnight on december 31st, we hope you’ll help us reach the finish line. With the help of matching funds from the Bulmash Siegel Foundation, we’d hoped to reach $7000 towards our new creation. We are $800 shy of that goal.

adelheid is a charity. 💛 Each small or big amount can go towards a tax receipt for 2025. And with that you can know that you are supporting the development of new work, and artists fees into a new year. We are grateful for all the generosity adelheid receives. And especially now.

With gratitude, we wish you a 2026 beyond your wildest dreams. 🎊

Since 2020 adelheid has been privileged to be in residency with the Citadel’s Creative Incubator program. We would not be here today without the gift of space and support, and without the creative development it allowed. We were lucky to present ‘On Air’, and ‘between me and you’, research ‘tender’, ‘one of many’ and develop ‘You are swimming here’, and offer workshops ‘zero-in’ and ‘tune in 2024’.  It has been an amazing home these last few years - especially once dance got going again in 2021-22. We are so grateful for Laurence and the Citadel - for thinking long-term during the pandemic, for the vision it took to take a long view and see a handful of artists and small companies through an incredibly challenging period in the dance sector. We were able to create, experiment, deepen practice, share workshops, perform, pitch and showcase work, and focus on design and installation projects. We had a place to work when we had no funding, and when we did have support, a place to make the most of it. We are so grateful for this example of generosity in Toronto dance, and to have been included in the Creative Incubator Residency. A huge thank you. ❤️
