📚 APLI’s Fifth Online Workshop of 2026

Grammar Under Pressure:
Intensive Grammar Training for Consecutive Interpreting: From Grammatical Accuracy to Real-Time Interpreting Performance in Legal and Medical Settings

APLI is pleased to invite members and colleagues to our fifth online professional development workshop of 2026, presented by Zyad Mohammed.

🎯 What will this workshop focus on?

For interpreters, knowing grammar is not enough. We need to be able to use grammatical structures accurately and automatically while listening, processing, remembering, and producing speech—all under the pressure of real-time interpreting.

This workshop connects grammar directly to the realities of interpreting, with a focus on how grammatical accuracy can support faster, more precise, and more effective consecutive interpreting performance in legal and medical settings.

📅 Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2026
🕕 Time: 6:00–8:00 p.m. EDT
💻 Venue: Online via Zoom
🎤 Speaker: Zyad Mohammed

🌍 Happy International Translation Day!

Today, we celebrate the translators and interpreters who make communication possible across languages, cultures, and communities.

From the written word to the spoken exchange, language professionals do far more than convey words — they help people understand one another, access essential services, participate fully in society, and connect across differences.

On this International Translation Day, APLI proudly recognizes the dedication, expertise, and professionalism of translators and interpreters everywhere.

To our members and colleagues: thank you for the important work you do every day.

✨ Happy International Translation Day!
Your words build bridges.

☀️ APLI Summer Picnic 2026! 🌿

What a wonderful way to spend a summer day together! 💛

Last week, APLI members came together for our Summer Picnic — a day filled with great food, BBQ, music, fun games, activities, gifts, laughter, and, most importantly, good company! 🎶🍔🎁🎲

As professional interpreters, much of our work is done independently, often without many opportunities to connect with the colleagues who understand the unique realities of what we do. Our work can also take us into challenging and emotionally demanding environments — hospitals, courts, shelters, and many other settings where we support people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

That’s why taking a break, stepping away from work, and simply enjoying time together is so important. This picnic gave us a chance to connect, recharge, laugh, share, and celebrate our wonderful interpreting community. 🤍

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so memorable! We hope these photos bring back some of the smiles and good memories. 📸✨

Here’s to our amazing APLI community — and to more moments of connection, fun, and togetherness! 🥂🌞
