✨ Celebrating the 10th anniversary of OCCI was a wonderful opportunity to come together, connect, and grow as a community.

A heartfelt thank you to all the interpreters and colleagues who participated in this event. 🚀 Interpreting Fast Reading Skills — Read Faster, Interpret Smarter

In interpreting, every second matters. Improving your fast reading skills means faster comprehension, better accuracy, and smoother delivery. Here are a few professional tips to level up:

📌 1. Train Your Eye for Key Words
Interpreters don’t need every single word — focus on nouns, verbs, numbers, and names to capture meaning quickly.

📌 2. Practice Silent Pre-Reading
Before interpreting written content, scan the text silently to identify structure, topic, and potential challenges.

📌 3. Use Chunking Techniques
Read in meaningful chunks (phrases or concepts) rather than single words to speed up semantic processing.

📌 4. Build Terminology Familiarity
The more terminology you already know, the less time you spend decoding. Create themed glossaries and review them regularly.

📌 5. Scan for Context First, Details Later
In interpreting, context is everything. Understand the general point first, then look for technical or critical details.
