Happy Spring everyone! Yesterday RSC members and their families gathered for our Spring Potluck. Thank you to everyone who brought delicious food, games, music, and especially Chad for opening up his beautiful space for the RSC community to gather outside our usual speaking time, so we could get to know each other even better and celebrate everything we have been able to accomplish as a club and as speakers so far this year.

Yesterday’s Speech Marathon meeting was beyond unique and inspiring! It turned out that so many prepared speeches were travel related.

8 speakers lined up to inspire us with their travel stories, taking us on an adventure across the globe without us having to leave the cozy High Park library room with butter colored walls. We had a beautiful Ice Breaker speech and a speech that allowed us to embrace limitations.

“Popcorn evaluations” were sweet, quick, to the point, and supportive.

In the end we all grew as speakers!

The speeches were so enthralling we forgot to take more pictures so apologies for not getting all the speakers in.

Some of us headed to Gabby’s after the meeting, like we always do after an in person meeting, to celebrate a job well done and St. Patrick’s day!

Last night RSC held our Club Level Speech Contest and 5 members courageously stepped up to inspire, educate, and uplift us with their incredible speeches. Congrats to our members Inna who secured 1st place in the contest, Chris for placing 2nd and Anita for her 3rd place win. Well done members! Inna and Chris will be moving on to represent our club at the area contest on the 21st of February. A huge shout out to all the members who came out to support our contestants, whether to just actively listen or take on any of the important roles needed to run the contest like moderator, judge and ballot counters, because without you there would be no contest. Massive appreciation to you! Tom great job running the contest smoothly, and always with a dash of your signature humor. Oh and on the note of appreciation, next week we are meeting online and the topic? Appreciation! All the roles are filled for this meeting, but do show up to try a table topic and grab a role for the next time we meet in person, there are plenty of opportunities to show up and practice speaking.

Thank you to everyone who came out to RSC’s annual Christmas party yesterday and thank you to our menbet Edgar and his family for hosting us in theyr beautiful cozy party space!

We had such an incredible turnout. The table was bursting with the most delicious food, we had world-class entertainment with two incredible magic acts, a cookie decorating contest, which was an absolute hit, and so much fun. Congrats to the winners!

Christmas carols gently playing in the background, kids, big and small running around, and just so much love filling the room.

What a lovely community we have built. Thank you for being a part of it! RSC is truly the greatest club on the planet.

We wish everyone the most festive, cozy, relaxing, and joyful Holiday Season! See you and your beautiful voices in the new year!
