Through a phone call or a brief visit, Circle of Care’s volunteers spark meaningful conversations with seniors who may be isolated, living alone, and in need of a friendly check-in. These regular moments of connection provide reassurance that someone cares, helping to improve overall well-being and quality of life.

This Friendly Visiting & Telephone Reassurance Day, we thank our volunteers for making these programs possible. By having a simple conversation on the phone, or in person, they ease feelings of isolation and remind seniors that they are not alone.

We were honoured to welcome MPP Laura Smith to our Adult Day Program on Monday. Given Laura’s instrumental work in introducing and passing Bill 121, the Improving Dementia Care in Ontario Act, it was incredibly meaningful to showcase how our community-level supports align with her advocacy for seniors and care partners.
During her visit, Laura met with staff, volunteers and clients, seeing firsthand how our program supports seniors and caregivers. She toured the space, learned more about our services, and heard about the meaningful connections and support that help our clients stay engaged and connected to their community. It was a pleasure to share how our Adult Day Program has become a valued and transformative space for so many members of our community.
Thank you, MPP Smith, for taking the time to visit, connect with our clients and team, and learn more about the impact of this important program.

As part of our International Volunteer Year celebration, we're excited to present the next video in our volunteer spotlight series. Celebrating 20 years as a Hospice volunteer, Elizabeth shares the story of meeting one of her clients for the first time and reflects on the meaningful connections that make volunteering so rewarding.

Together, we’re able to address senior isolation, mobility, and mental well-being with your commitment of just a few hours a month. If you’re interested in volunteering with us, please visit our website to learn more: https://circleofcare.com/volunteer/

Meals on Wheels helps seniors stay healthy, independent and connected at home.
For many seniors, grocery shopping and meal preparation can become challenging. Circle of Care's Meals on Wheels program delivers nutritious meals right to clients’ homes, along with a friendly check-in at every visit.
During Meals on Wheels Week, we’re celebrating and thanking our dedicated volunteer drivers. More than delivering meals, they provide a familiar face, meaningful connection, and an extra layer of support for the seniors we serve.
Thank you to all of our Meals on Wheels volunteers for the important role you play in our community.

At Circle of Care’s Adult Day Program, we recently introduced doll therapy as part of our recreational programming and person-centred approach to care. Through this meaningful activity, clients living with dementia can hold and interact with a doll, finding comfort in their lifelike features, gentle sounds, and sensory elements. Our staff have seen remarkable changes in clients as they cradle the dolls, becoming calmer and more engaged while reconnecting with cherished memories of caring for their own family.

To learn more about the benefits of doll therapy we've seen first-hand, read our article here: https://circleofcare.com/the-benefits-of-doll-therapy-for-seniors-living-with-dementia/
