🇪🇹🇨🇦 A Historic Celebration at Queen’s Park
The Ethiopian Association in the GTA and Surrounding Regions is proud to share these wonderful moments from the inaugural Ethiopian Heritage Month Reception at Queen’s Park, marking a significant milestone for the Ethiopian-Canadian community.
It was an honour to celebrate this historic occasion alongside community members, religious and community leaders, current and former Board members, volunteers, media representatives, business and restaurant owners, distinguished guests, supporters, and friends of the Ethiopian-Canadian community.
As we celebrate, we also recognize everyone whose contributions helped bring our community to this moment. Special recognition goes to Eskinder Mekonin, who initiated the idea that led to this historic recognition, and Mr. Liben Gebremikael for his contribution to advancing this important journey.
Our appreciation equally extends to those who could not attend, past staff and leadership, volunteers, community organizations and partners, businesses, advocates, and the many individuals who have contributed their time, knowledge, resources, and service, often quietly behind the scenes, over the years.
This milestone reflects years of collective effort, advocacy, service, and community commitment. It belongs to everyone who helped build the foundation for the recognition we celebrate today, and to the generations who will carry it forward.
