The funds we raise in Canada support El Hogar’s mission: equipping Honduran youth from disadvantaged circumstances with an academic education, a marketable vocational skill, a sense of self-worth – and the confidence and tools to pursue their own dreams. Founded in 2011, El Hogar Canada – officially known as El Hogar Projects (Canada)– is a registered Canadian charity run by an all-volunteer board

of directors that raises money to support the work of El Hogar in Honduras. All the money we raise, less our very modest operating costs, helps pay El Hogar's many expenses – among them food, staff salaries, medical supplies, facility maintenance – associated with providing an accredited education, from Grades 1 through 12, to more than 250 students living in vulnerable conditions in Honduras.

“Our goal,” says EHP’s Executive Director Denise Vargas, “is that every child enrolled at El Hogar will have had an equitable opportunity to flourish, become an independent member of society and find his or her own fulfillment.”

Wine Survivor 2025 was a great success! We raised $5,160 to support El Hogar and its crucial work of providing the tools for Honduran children and adolescents from vulnerable communities to transform their own lives.

Thanks to all 152 people who participated, and congratulations to the winners who received Gift Cards to spend on their favourite wines at their provincial wine retailer.

One Grade 12 graduate at a time, El Hogar is breaking the cycle of poverty in Honduras.

Yesterday, six of our staff attended a training at the Central Bank of Honduras about health and safety in the workplace to help us enhance our policies and protocols in our welding and electrical workshops. This team of staff will take the lead in providing training for all staff and our high school students starting in February when they return to classes.
