Tutvustame inspireerivat eestlast maailmas – Ellen Valterit 💙

Kanadas tegutsev Ellen Valter on Toronto Uue Eesti Keskuse eestvedaja ning Northern Birch Credit Unioni nõukogu esimees. Ta on üks neist inimestest, kes näitab iga päev, kuidas väliseesti kogukonda saab hoida, kasvatada ja nähtavaks teha ka kaugel kodust.

Taasiseseisvusmispäeval, 20. augustil avatakse🏗️ Torontos Uus Eesti Keskus.
Ellen Valteri töö ei ole olnud ainult ühe hoone rajamine. Terevisioonile antud intervjuus kirjeldas ta keskuse loomist tabavalt: „See on mõeldud tulevikku vaatavaks majaks. Mida Eesti meilt vajab, mida me saame Eestile pakkuda ning see on mõeldud ka rahvusvaheliseks ja mitte ainult oma kogukonda teenivaks. See on avatud.“

Tema mõte on luua paik, mis ühendab eestlasi rahvusvahelises keskkonnas, hoiab keelt ja kultuuri ning avab Eesti lugu ka laiemale maailmale.

Aitäh, Ellen Valter, et ühendad kogukondi, lood tulevikku ja kannad Eestit südames ka teisel pool ookeani. Sinusugused inimesed hoiavad üleilmset eestlust elavana. 🌎 🇪🇪

Üleilmse eestluse tegevuskava sai Eesti valitsuse poolt vastu võetud ja 10. aprillil esitatud väljaspool Eestit elavate eestlaste esindajatele. /// KESKUS was asked to attend to contribute to discussion at the Estonian government's diaspora action plan presented by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Välisministeerium. This plan is for the coming three years - after all, KESKUS will do its part to implement what it can. Thank you to Estonian Central Council in Canada for the support.
