PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR-DESIGNATE MEETS GOLDEN BALANGAY FOUNDATION IN OTTAWA

Ottawa, 13 August 2025 — Philippine Ambassador-Designate to Canada Jose Victor V. Chan-Gonzaga met virtually with the leaders of the Golden Balangay Foundation (GBF) to discuss opportunities for collaboration in strengthening the voice and visibility of the Filipino diaspora in Canada.

GBF President and Chairman Ronnie Dela Gana, Co-founder Jovito Favila, and Program Head Claire Dela Gana briefed the Ambassador-Designate on the Foundation’s history and programs. Established in 2021 following the success of the Golden Balangay Awards launched in 2017, GBF has since expanded its advocacy to include community development initiatives such as the Filipino-Canadian National Scholarship Program, launched in partnership with Kabangka Canada in 2024.
