What happens when great friends, great wines, and rock legends meet at a Toronto classic? Pure joy. Our winning bidder Chris Schmidt and friends shared an unforgettable evening with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson at Barberian’s Steak House—stories flowing, glasses clinking, and a table filled with laughter. As a wine-event-based charity, moments like these remind us that generosity is best enjoyed in good company. Here’s to camaraderie, exceptional bottles from Geddy’s and Chris’s personal collection, and memories that go down as smoothly as the last pour.

Thank you, Chris, and to everyone who supports Grapes for Humanity—together, we turn special evenings into meaningful impact.

We are starting to gear up for the 2026 Grapes for Humanity Fine Wine Auction and just received this eclectic wine donation from a generous donor, they will receive a generous and valuable tax receipt and the money raised will go to support some amazing causes in the pursuit of combatting climate change!

This afternoon, members of the Grapes for Humanity Youth Council spoke with CityNews’ Audra Brown, sharing their passion for creating positive change in the world.

These young compassionate leaders are making us immensely proud as they build on the legacy established 25 years ago by founders Tony Aspler and Arlene Willis. Today, our nine-member volunteer Board of Directors remains dedicated to supporting impactful projects at home and abroad, proving that compassion and community can make a world of difference.

Members from our Grapes for Humanity Youth Council: George Tedford, Jacob Deegan and Aaron Brady were interviewed by Audra Brown of CityNews this afternoon regarding their success inaugural event called Pour with Purpose at The University Club in support of a school build in Nepal. It will air between 5-6pm this evening.

The first generation is ushering in the next wave of change-makers through Grapes for Humanity. This evening, our Youth Council—comprised of outstanding university graduates—hosted an incredible event aptly named Pour with Purpose at the University Club of Toronto. Proceeds from the evening will support the Youth Council (link below) in building a school in Nepal through buildOn. Please join us in celebrating these exceptional young adults, whose empathy and compassion inspire us all. We are so proud of you!

Last night, our Grapes for Humanity (GFH) board gathered at Barberian’s—longtime supporter of GFH—to thank José Bautista for his time, heart, and generous support of our global charitable work. Barberian’s and José generously offered this dinner to our auction, which the winning bidder, Douglas French, enjoyed last night with his friends and José. We’re grateful to all for making it such a memorable evening!
