—10:30AM–2:30PM: All Tents and Stations are OPEN, including Q***r Arts Market, Art Stations (one led by Naz Rahbar), Face Painting, Complimentary Snacks, and so much more!
—12PM: Official Opening Remarks!
—12:30-1PM: Park Parade led by Shadowland Theatre!
—1PM-1:30PM: Rainbow Circus Performance #2, and Mocktails Tent Pop-Up!
—1:30-2:30PM: Manny Dingo + Chelazon Leroux with Drag Storytime and Performance!
—2:30-3PM: Open Dance Party in the Park. Give us Your Song Requests!
—3PM: Event Finished. Goodbye Until Next Year!

East End Arts is seeking submissions from local Toronto textile-based artists and/or arts facilitators interested in sharing their art practice with a group of engaged seniors through one 2-hour workshop. These workshops may take place online OR in-person, so your workshop should be adaptable to both settings.

📣 Help share this news with any up-and-coming arts administrators you know! We're looking to hire two youth assistants for the summer as part of Canada Summer jobs 🍁! We're hiring one Digital Communications Assistant, and one Programming Assistant!

Come and play an exciting role 🥳 in supporting our summer community arts programs like, Textile Tales, ArtLabs, Seniors Creative Circle, and so much more! These roles are hybrid (online and in-person).

➡️Deadline to apply for both jobs is Sunday May 31, 2026 by 11:59PM EST.
➡️Both positions pay $20/hour and are full time positions, or 35 hours per week up to 280 hours.

Say hello to our summer Programming Assistant, Mckenzie Ramsay 👋, and our summer Communications & Outreach Assistant, Caroline Tuccinardi👋! Both roles will be playing a crucial role in helping us to execute our summer programs and initiatives! Welcome to you both 🥳.

🔊Come to Scanning the Globe: The Digital Mine, an upcoming art installation hosted at Toronto Metropolitan University on May 25th-26th from 6-9PM EST!

The primary goal of the exhibition is to share the story of the Britannia Mine community while also demonstrating innovative methods of digital preservation and storytelling. The exhibition aims to show how emerging technologies can deepen engagement with historical narratives while expanding accessibility and long-term preservation.

Visitors will be able to:
• View 3D-scanned artifacts virtually
• Pick up and hold 3D-printed replicas
• Watch a documentary exploring the history of Britannia Mine and the stories of the community shaped around it
• Learn how emerging technologies can help preserve history for future generations

The Beaded Path, led by DARK STAR ARTS, is happening on Zoom THIS THURSDAY MAY 21 from 7-9PM EST 😊, and Guest Star Shannon Gustafson will be joining! This week’s circle will focus on a Material & Creative Expert Session as Shannon will share her knowledge on Regalia Making!

Shannon Gustafson (Giiwedinong kwe), (Anishnawbe) (Makwa ndoodem) is a registered member of Whitesand First Nation and a long term resident of Thunder Bay Ontario. She works as a full time artist and has experience in various artistic mediums such as beadwork, textiles, traditional clothing/regalia, woodworking and painting.

Shannon is well known for her floral beadwork, which is inspired by the ancestors of her tribe. As an indigenous artist she is committed to cultural preservation through continual learning and sharing her gifts. She has received numerous Ontario Arts Council grants as well as a recipient of the Hnatyshyn Foundation Reveal Indigenous artist awards in 2017.

The Beaded Path is a biweekly no-cost online space where Indigenous creators from across Turtle Island can sit together chatting, laughing, and sharing experiences while beading and creating together!
