I am saddened to learn of the passing of former Member of Parliament and Regional Vice Chairman of Region Two, Cde. Vishnu Samaroo.

Cde. Samaroo was industrious and knowledgeable. His deep understanding of the affairs, challenges and development needs of Region Two, earned him the respect and admiration of many. He served his region with distinction and left behind a worthy legacy of dedicateded service. Cde. Samaroo was a true and faithful servant of the people.

On behalf of the government of Guyana, I extend sincere condolences to his family, friends and the people of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region.
