Upon the initiative of the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto headed by Consul General Orontes V. Castro, seven (7) leaders of Filipino-Canadian Professional organizations representing nurses, physiotherapists, architects, engineers, construction professionals, teachers and accountants signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on 11 July 2020.
The Memorandum of Cooperation is intended to facilitate collaboration and foster unity among the said organizations in promoting the interests of Filipino professionals in Ontario, particularly the recognition of their credentials. The professional organizations have decided to organize a Convention this year that will serve as a venue for information dissemination and sharing of best practices and experiences in getting a license and to practice their respective professions in Canada.
The Convention is expected to facilitate further dialogue and collaboration in promoting the interests of Filipino professionals to allow them to contribute further to the development of the Province of Ontario, Canada in general and the Philippines as well.
