On Friday, February 28th, Toronto MOA member, Lauren Grace Silverson, Founder and Head of the Hellenic Heritage Club at Havergal College, hosted the inaugural Havergal Greek Festival, Panegyri, in Brenda Robson Hall, which was an outstanding success!✨
The space was transformed into a traditional πλατεία (Plateia – Greek square), complete with olive trees, creating an authentic Mediterranean atmosphere that welcomed 150–200 students, along with numerous faculty members, staff, parents, Hellenic organizations, Hellenic businesses, and talented performers. 🇬🇷
Everyone enjoyed the delicious Greek food, sweets, and refreshments provided. There were also various stations showcasing Greek language, culture, traditions, travel, art, and Greek Canadian experiences.
A huge thank you to Havergal College, the Hellenic Heritage Foundation, the Consulate General of Greece in Toronto, Kariba Foods Inc, Peter & Paul’s Gift Baskets, the Greek Community Senior Dance Group, MOA advisor Vivian Silverson, and Grand Governor Zone 5 Xanthe Vafopoulou for supporting this amazing event and initiative.
