Exciting news for the future of planning in Ontario!
The Ontario government is investing over $2.8 million to launch a new Bachelor of Community Planning program at Nipissing University, announced by Nolan Quinn, Minister of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security.
This new program will help train more community planners, with a unique focus on small and mid-sized communities, Northern Ontario, and Indigenous communities. The strategic investment will prepare students for successful careers and good-paying, in-demand jobs that are needed to drive prosperity in communities across the province.
OPPI is proud to work closely with the six other universities across Ontario that offer accredited planning programs (Toronto Metropolitan University, Queen's University, University of Guelph, University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, and York University). We are committed to supporting planning students and connecting them with the profession through opportunities to:
- Build Professional Network
- Launch Planning Career with Confidence
- Stay Ahead of the Profession
- Invest in Their Future
- Access Tools to Help Them Stand Out
- Start Journey to RPP Early
We look forward to welcoming Nipissing University students into Ontario's planning community and supporting their success as future planning leaders.
Join us in celebrating this important milestone for the planning profession and Northern Ontario!
