Concerts in Care brings the inspiring music and performances of Canada’s most distinguished professional musicians into the homes of our elderly, frail and often isolated citizens. During a 45-minute concert, residents in institutional long-term care experience the joy and beauty of great live music. It helps build communities. Concerts in Care is important in building that sense of community with

in long term residential homes

Health Arts Society (BC) was founded in the first days of 2006 to meet the clear need for live professional arts programmes for people in health care sites. The largest audiences in health care for arts programmes are found in residences for elders. Many of these people will be unable to access live music or theatre arts for the rest of their lives. Most public health authorities do not have mandated standards or budgets for providing quality of life programmes for people living in chronic care residences. Occupational therapy and recreation staff make valiant efforts to provide programmes but the cost of them is stripped from already pressed operating budgets. Health Arts Society wants to see this situation change and its concert programme is an agent of that change. This is the official social media channel of the Health Arts Society of Ontario. When you donate to Concerts in Care, you help us bring the joy, beauty, and connection of live music to some of Ontario's most vulnerable and isolated seniors.

Music can be transformative. Time and time again, we see seniors faces light up when they hear a familiar tune performed by an incredible artist. Their eyes sparkle; they break out in a smile, or break down in tears.

We hear about the impact of our music from their family and caretakers, and from the seniors themselves. They share that our concerts are a major highlight...something they look forward to, and talk about for weeks after!

When you donate to Concerts in Care, you're investing in the health and wellbeing of Ontario's seniors, and building a future where people of all ages have access to quality programming that enhances quality of life.

A Concerts in Care performance is about much more than entertainment: it’s a life-enhancing focal point for building bridges between elders, care partners, loved ones, and healthcare staff.

High-quality live music has the power to engage strong emotions that can alleviate loneliness, reduce anxiety, and create a sense of community within care facilities. At the same time, our artists understand that social connection is as important as the musical connection. Our roster is carefully selected for both artistry and the ability to communicate with seniors in an effective an engaging way.

If you want to see it, you'll have to be up EARLY in the morning. But if you don't quite make it in time, you can enjoy this beautiful rendition Rodgers and Hart's iconic ballad, "Blue Moon", performed by Randy Hoover & Danny McErlain.
