Transgender Awareness Week is observed annually and aims to increase awareness, visibility and knowledge of trans people, and the issues faced by members of trans communities. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the lives of two-spirit, trans, nonbinary and gender non-conforming people and the contributions they have made and continue to make.
On November 14, join the UTSC community in an arts- and reflection-based event and to craft messages of support for Trans Awareness Week. From hardship to empowerment, from trauma to healing, from dysphoria to euphoria - we will explore these themes together and craft messages of solidarity, celebration, and reflection to be used in the Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil, held Nov. 18 at UTSC.
