Toby's Place was created to answer the call to create a loving and affirming space for 2S-LGBTQIA+ youth in Scarborough, Ontario. Toby's Place is a drop-in program for LGBTQ+ youth in high school to age 23 in south west Scarborough, Ontario. Through Toby's Place, we seek to create a sanctuary where LGBTQ+ youth of all faiths (or no faith) are welcome to join us for community, connection, discussion, and support. VISION: We believe in working toward a world where all are free from discrimination and oppression and all are nurtured and supported in the universal call to live as our authentic selves. MISSION: We seek to create a space where LGBTQ+ youth have the opportunity to be nourished in body and soul. We offer comfort, support, inspiration, and encouragement for individual, community, and global transformation by affirming both the reality and the dreams of the LGBTQ+ youth in our community. VALUES: We are called to work within a stance of mutuality and to invite youth to see the possibility of owning their own power and making decisions about their own lives. Join us as we celebrate the incredible partnership between Toby's Place and The 519 and the amazing journey we've shared together. 💙✨

This celebration is a chance to reflect on everything we've accomplished together, recognize the strength of our community, and thank everyone who has been part of this journey.

✨ Breathing, Focusing, and Being Present at Toby’s Place ✨🌿💙

This Monday, our community came together for an afternoon of mindfulness, relaxation, and connection through our Breathe, Focus & Be Present activity. 💚

Youth had the opportunity to:
🌬️ Practice simple breathing exercises to help reduce stress and promote relaxation
🧘 Explore mindfulness techniques to stay present and improve focus
💬 Connect with friends while learning calming strategies in a welcoming and supportive space together

The room was filled with peaceful moments, meaningful conversations, and opportunities for self-reflection as everyone took time to slow down and be present. Through guided breathing exercises and mindfulness activities, youth discovered simple techniques they can use in their everyday lives to support their mental well-being and manage stress. ✨

Activities like these remind us that taking a few moments to pause, breathe, and focus can help build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and create meaningful connections in a safe and inclusive environment. 💚

Join us for a relaxing and welcoming afternoon as we explore simple mindfulness and breathing techniques that can help reduce stress, improve focus, and support overall well-being. Together, we'll practice a variety of easy breathing exercises, learn ways to stay present in the moment, and discover calming strategies you can use anytime. No experience is needed just come as you are!

✨ Creating, Connecting, and Expressing Ourselves at Toby’s Place ✨🎨
This Monday, our community came together for an afternoon of creativity, imagination, and connection through our 3D Paper Art activity. 💚
Youth had the opportunity to:
🎨 Explore their creativity by designing unique 3D paper creations
✂️ Learn new crafting techniques while experimenting with shapes, colours, and textures
💬 Connect with friends, share ideas, and enjoy a welcoming, supportive space together
The room was filled with creativity, laughter, and collaboration as everyone transformed simple materials into incredible works of art. From folding and layering paper to adding their own personal touches, each creation reflected the unique imagination and creativity of its maker. ✨
Activities like these remind us that creativity can be a powerful way to express ourselves, build confidence, and connect with others in a fun and inclusive environment. 💚
