Don’t miss Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, Naomi Klein, Indigenous land defenders, and many others on Saturday, September 12 at 4:00 pm as they kick off the Many vs the Money Counter-Summit that continues all day on Sunday, September 13.

While the Canada Investment Summit brings together international bankers, equity fund managers, and mining conglomerates to discuss extracting even more profit from Canada, the rest of us will strategize to protect water and land, preserve public services, deliver affordable housing, and protect our communities. 🚨 Prime Minister Mark Carney must fix EI now! 🚨

In difficult times, workers need accessible, adequate and fair (EI). Unfortunately, that is not the reality in Canada right now. Less than 40% of unemployed workers receive EI. From restrictive eligibility requirements and unfair disqualifications to inadequate levels of support, EI is failing workers.

👇 Tell us in the comments about your EI experience. And share this post if you think it's time to fix EI!

While the World Cup is now over, the issues it raised for workers remain.

We recently shared some criticism of FIFA and the City of Toronto and got some feedback. Our focus was never about individuals who choose to volunteer, but about calling out exploitation, because workers deserve better. Until our governments take action, companies will continue to misclassify workers to boost their profits.

📣 That’s why we’re calling on the Ontario Minister of Labour to take action now to simplify the test and protect workers from all forms of misclassification.
