The University of Toronto Outing Club is a 55 year old club comprised of University of Toronto students, staff and faculty. The club is centred around a wide variety of outdoor activities including:
camping, canoeing, caving, cross-country and downhill skiing, cycling, hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, rock climbing, etc. The Club was founded in 1957 and the members are drawn together by a mutual int

erest in outdoor activities to enhance their enjoyment of nature. This is accomplished by leading and participating in Club trips. UTOC is a registered non-profit corporation in the province of Ontario. UTOC offers frequent, inexpensive, weekend and day trips to many parts of Ontario (and beyond), although some trips are longer. The majority of trips accommodate novices and intermediates with a few for the very experienced. The Club stresses physical, outdoor, non-competitive activities such as canoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing, skating, cycling, hiking, camping, and others. Members can be found to participate in just about any type of trip. In addition to trips, the Club also has regular social events in the city. One of the Club’s prized assets is its Cabin located southwest of Collingwood on the Niagara Escarpment which boasts approximately 45 km of the best cross-country ski trails in the Province of Ontario. The Cabin is used for cross-country skiing in winter, and hiking in spring, summer, and fall.
