Green Hope Foundation works tirelessly to ensure that women are equipped with the tools & skillsets to earn a stable source of income, sustain their families & live a life of dignity. We are empowering women who have lost their husbands to tiger attacks (tiger widows) in the Sundarbans, the worldโ€™s largest mangrove forest, to become goat farming entrepreneurs. We distributed goats within this community, which will enable the women to practice goat farming, sell their milk, and become income-generators for themselves and their families. Goats are low-maintenance, highly productive, and provide multiple resources, making them a valuable source of nutrition and income. We also conducted a goat-rearing workshop, which featured a veterinarian, to educate the tiger widows about caring for their goats!๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’ฐ

As part of our mangrove restoration project, we planted hundreds of native mangrove saplings in the Sundarbans, the worldโ€™s largest mangrove forest, with the tiger widows, empowering them by teaching them skills to protect their village from climate change-induced disasters. We are strengthening one of the worldโ€™s most powerful natural carbon sinks, capturing & storing โ€œblue carbonโ€ at rates significantly higher than terrestrial forests while protecting vulnerable coastlines. This is our way of celebrating by protecting our local ecosystems & ensuring a !๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿฝ
