Fernie Youth Services

Fernie Youth Services Fernie Youth is a Toronto area charity that offers services to youth and their families.

Guided by hope and compassion, we serve youth in and at risk of being in conflict with the law on a journey towards reintegration and purposeful living. At Fernie, we give first, second, third, or thirtieth chances to help youth move forward in a meaningful way. 👫

Since 1964, Fernie Youth Services has been dedicated to empowering young people who have been given up on, often based on their positi

on in society. We provide residential, employment readiness, and community reintegration programming to at-risk youth across the Greater Toronto Area, transforming their lives and fostering safer communities for generations to come. 🧡

To date, Fernie has guided over 6,000 young men and women on new paths toward becoming responsible, law-abiding citizens. Through our commitment to Caring Beyond Reason® and our unwavering dedication to going above and beyond, we instill hope in the next generation, inspiring them to reach their fullest potential. Why does mental health look so different in young men?

Over the years of supporting young men across the GTA, we've seen how much strength it takes to navigate mental health - and how often that strength goes unrecognized.

For many young men, youth is a time of feeling misunderstood and alone, and as they grow older, it can be that much harder to break the pattern and take charge of their mental health.

Mental health doesn't always look the way we expect. Sometimes it's quiet resilience, the courage to open up, or just showing up again after a hard day.

At Fernie Youth, we see this strength every day, and we're here to help young men build on it 🧡

Men’s Health Week is a reminder to talk openly about men’s health, including the barriers that can make it harder for men and boys to ask for support.

At Fernie Youth Services, we work with young men across the Greater Toronto Area to help them access the care, resources, guidance, and steady support they need to move forward. That includes support with mental health, healthcare, housing, education, employment, and reintegration.

This week, we invite you to check in with the men in your life, listen without judgment, and help create communities where asking for support is seen as a sign of strength. 🧡
